Bringing the magic of live music to children who might not otherwise experience it.

Listening to and learning about live classical music can help children develop skills such as concentration and creativity, discovering new passions and expanding their horizons.

Most importantly, it also enhances children’s wellbeing.

Many children from disadvantaged backgrounds do not have the opportunity to access art and culture or to experience the joy of live music, and especially live classical music.

Our programme helps to address this by taking children on an inspirational journey as we gradually introduce them to the instruments of the orchestra, the musicians who play them and the music they play. Children develop their confidence, understanding and enjoyment of classical music, before experiencing a spectacular symphony orchestra concert at Hackney Empire.

How We Work

We work with children in primary and special schools, transforming lives and enhancing wellbeing through:

  • Interactive workshops in the classroom

  • Meeting & learning from professional musicians

  • Live music & active participation

  • High-quality classical concert hall performances

If your school is interested in taking part in this inspiring programme we would love to hear from you.

  • Making classical music accessible and inspiring to all children, regardless of knowledge, experience or background.

  • Helping children to develop key, transferable skills, including concentration, creativity and self-confidence.

  • Making music a positive force in children’s lives and inspiring them to learn an instrument.

“Apollo music is one of the greatest experiences my classes have ever had throughout the school year.”

“The children absolutely love having the opportunity to listen to and experience live classical music, not to mention going to a live orchestra performance! It really encourages the children to listen to classical music and take up lessons with new instruments. There has never been a greater time in which children need this experience.”
